Intro: The Mersenne Twister has a colossal period of 2^19937-1, the largest of all cycles from the algorithms currently available here at the PB Crypto Archives. The algorithm was invented in 1997 by Makoto Matsumoto and Takuji Nishimura, and it provides for fast generation of very high quality random numbers, having been designed specifically to rectify many of the flaws found in older algorithms. Mersenne Twister passes all ENT and DIEHARD tests.
